Modest KitPrivacy policy
Effective 6 October 2026. Applies to the Modest Fill browser extension and to modestkit.com.
Short version: Modest Fill keeps everything in your own browser. We do not collect, receive, store, sell or share any of your data. We cannot see it.
What Modest Fill stores
- Your settings, such as the email domain for test sign-ups.
- The details you choose to save, such as your name, email, phone, company, address and date of birth. Every field is optional.
These are saved with the browser's own extension storage on your device. They are not synced by the extension and are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. Uninstalling the extension deletes them.
Passwords made by Modest Fill are created on your device when you press the shortcut, shown to you once, and not stored by the extension.
The Chrome Web Store data labels
The Chrome Web Store asks every extension to list the kinds of data it handles, even when that data never leaves your device. Modest Fill's listing shows three, all handled on your device only:
- Personally identifiable information - the name, email, phone, address and date of birth you choose to save.
- Authentication information - the passwords Modest Fill creates and types into sign-up forms. They are not stored.
- Website content - the labels of form fields on the page you fill, read at that moment so the right value goes into each box.
None of it is sent to us or to anyone else.
What Modest Fill does with a web page
The extension only reads or changes a page when you press one of its shortcuts or click its icon. It then fills visible form fields on that page. The page itself receives whatever is in the fields when you submit the form, exactly as if you had typed it. The extension does not read your browsing history, does not run in the background on the sites you visit, and does not contact any server.
Permissions, and why
- activeTab - to reach the page you are on, only at the moment you press the shortcut.
- scripting - to fill the form fields on that page.
- storage - to keep your settings and saved details on your device.
Analytics, cookies and tracking
None, in the extension or on this website. The website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site. We do not add analytics or advertising.
Chrome Web Store user data policy
The use of information by Modest Fill complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the form-filling feature you asked for, is never transferred to third parties, never used for advertising, and never used to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
Children
Modest Kit tools are not aimed at children under 13 and collect no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
